I'm in a job training program studying computer skills, business operations, and managment. A friend of my parents' who works at the community college I went to for awhile said that the tutoring center is looking for someone who can use the computer and set up appointments and maybe even help with tutoring and they'd pay the person for the job, so I put in a request! They said I could do it while I was still in the middle of my job training and that they'd work around any schedule, so I'm crossing my fingers and praying and I hope you all will for me too *smile*

Hey there everyone. To the person who might be getting the tutoring job, the best of luck to you. I hope things work out in your favor. I only wish I could say the same thing about my situation. Well who knows, maybe one day something cool will come up.
This morning I attended a seminar for job-seekers. It was held at my new VR counselor's office. Employers came to represent their respective places of employment, and they conducted mock interviews with us. It was cool. I attended three mock interviews, armed with copies of my resume. Folks if you think rehab is screwed up get a load of this. Just in the one office building I was at this morning, there are nine counselors, yes, nine. And they don't all work with the visually-impaired. Talk about an agency in need of a separate commission for the blind!
Sorry everyone, I've been neglecting this board, but if you've kept up with my livejournal (the homepage in my profile) you know that I've started my job site and it's a different one than the one at the college I talked about here. We do mock interviews and such in my R.O.P. class also, so I know all about that, plus my VR counselor is going to get ZoomText installed on the computers at R.O.P. and at the job site! By the way, my name's Kate and I'm Kate R. There's another Kate on here who's Kate S. just so you don't get too confused.
